HOME CONSTRUCTED WHEEL CUTTING ENGINE
This wheel engine was probably made from plans that were in a construction article featured in the horological journal. It bears a striking resemblance to the one featured in J Malcolm Wild`s book WHEEL AND PINION CUTTING IN HOROLOGY (fig`s 83 & 84 ) page 43. Well worth reading! A good solid machine with the following wheel counts:- 19, 64, 68, 70, 75, 78, 80, 96, 100, 114, 120. A spare plate came with it and has the following counts :- 34, 41, 58, 62, 63, 64, 70, 72, 74. the motor is 240 volt single phase mains, speeds are variable. There is a box of various attachments including fly cutters and posts and spindle adapters. The machine could cut up to a 5″ wheel. It has a wheel support device (shown on the left of the center post ) and the spindle can be moved across the frame for centering. It could do with a clean and we have included a more powerful 240 volt mains motor. Buyer collects or arranges collection.
