WHEEL AND PINION CUTTING ENGINE BY JOHN WADDLE & ANTHONY J CARR
This superb hand built machine by the above is No5 and built for a Mr Hedley Martin an accomplished Horologist in 1978. Built in the older style but to a very high standard and green in operation as it is powered by Elbow Grease. There are 2 spindles that take 4.3 mm and 7 mm bore standard Thornton Cutters, wheel counts are as follows:- 46,49,54,56,60,62,64,66,68,70,72,74,76,78,80,84,88,90,96,100,108. Wheel blanks are held on 1Morse taper spindles only one came with the machine but easily made or sourced. The maximum wheel that could be cut is 61/2 diameter. Footprint is 29″X 15X 24″ high.
